Kyle Cooke looks and feels young.
The Summer House star, 43, opened up about his skincare secrets and how he maintains his youthful glow during an interview with Bustle published on Tuesday, April 28. “It’s been pretty funny how many people are asking what I’m using,” Kyle said, referencing social media chatter about his look.
“When Amanda [Batula] was living with me, we’d get a lot of PR boxes, so I’ve had the opportunity to self-select what [products] I use,” he added.
Kyle, who announced his split from Amanda, 34 in January after four years of marriage, revealed he made a “habit” of using a daily cleanser and moisturizer.
“Cetaphil makes great options for both,” he noted. “As a dude, I don’t want something with a fragrance — I just want something that does the job, so every single day I’m using a daily hydrating lotion. If you have a little acne, they make ones with salicylic acid.” Before filming a confessional, Kyle said he sometimes adds some self-tanner.
As for his daily mantra, Kyle pointed out, “If I act young, I need to be able to look young.” He added, “I’m sure some of it’s genetics. My dad looks young; people tell me I look young.”
Kyle added that he’s careful about applying sunscreen.
“I film every summer, and I like to find something that’s a nongreasy, nonwhite product,” he told the publication. “Neutrogena makes some great ones. There are times when I’m like, “I don’t want any sun.” I’ll use something as high as an SPF 70 because I already have a little bit of a summer base tan.”
Kyle also shared that he doesn’t “believe” in a post-breakup glow-up. “The breakup [from Amanda] was announced and I was very much in the hot seat,” he said.
He admitted, “It’s been tough to watch back some of the clips from the summer. I certainly feel horrible and need to take accountability.” (In one season 10 scene, Kyle said “F*** you” to Amanda after he felt like she wasn’t supporting him. West, 31, comforted Amanda and has since confirmed his romance with her in a joint statement posted via Instagram.
Fans were especially shocked by West and Amanda’s relationship because her close friend Ciara Miller is his ex. Plus, sources exclusively told Us Weekly in early April that West and Ciara had hooked up “about three to four weeks ago.”
Kyle and other costars will address the love triangle on the upcoming season 10 reunion, which is set to air later this year.
