Was that planned?
Holmes wore an ethereal Zac Posen dress in pale pink. The gathered bodice and pleated chiffon skirt showed off her lean figure while the draped detail on the back added drama. The face of Bobbi Brown, 35, played up her radiant complexion with a smoky eye and shiny pink lips. Holmes swept her hair into a high top knot with extra height in the front.
Newcomer Rush, 17, wore a gorgeous red Georges Hobeika Couture gown with an embellished bodice. With her hair swept into an elaborate braided chignon, Rush played up her eyes with a dramatic cat eye and bright pink lips. "We actually looked at a picture of Marilyn Monroe as sort of an inspiration and then figured out a way to make the look younger and more modern," celeb makeup artist Beau Nelson tells Us Weekly of the look he created with Chanel makeup. "By using shimmery shadows and pink lips instead of matte red the look felt updated and fresh as opposed to retro, but still had a classic Hollywood glamour feel."
Nelson used Chanel Automatic Liquid Liner in Noir to wing it upwards, making it thicker at the outer edge, and Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Exatituqe. "I applied the lip color with a lip brush for precision," he says. "But then I blended the edges with my finger to make it a little softer."
Swift brought her ladylike street style to the red carpet in a Monique Lhuillier dress and Casadei heels. The red bodice provided a striking contrast to the blush tea-length skirt. The "Red" singer, 24, paired the look with her signature cat eye and red lip combo and a dramatic side part with retro waves.
