No mud, bugs, or blood — the cast of The Walking Dead finally got a chance to clean up for the fifth season series’ red carpet premiere on Thursday, Oct. 2. All the major players feted with Jose Cuervo Cinge cocktails on the Universal Studios lot in honor of the AMC show’s new season, which debuts on Oct. 12 at 9/8 c.
Lauren Cohan took full advantage of the opportunity to get all dolled up. “I really appreciate it, but I think I only appreciate it this much because I really like the death and the filth, and all that stuff,” she told Us Weekly at the premiere party. “If I was doing this every two weeks, it wouldn’t really be that great.”
The actress, 32, who plays Maggie Greene, looked the part of an old Hollywood screen siren in a crimson-hued Zimmermann dress and gold Brian Atwood heels. She styled her chocolate tresses in tight waves and paired the elegant look with a swipe of red lipstick. She hung on to Andrew Lincoln (a.k.a. Rick Grimes) and Norman Reedus (a.k.a. Daryl Dixon), who charmed in navy blue suits.
What’s a Walking Dead bash minus a ghoul? Reedus, 45, posed next to a fearsome zombie who floated around the shindig in blood-soaked clothes.
Danai Gurira — who plays Michonnne — went for a strawberry motif, wearing a pink and red striped cocktail dress by Christian Siriano with berry peep-toe Giuseppe Zanotti pumps. The actress, 36, enhanced her natural beauty with neutral makeup.
Just the girls! Alanna Masterson looked ravishing in a silk watercolor frock by Christopher Bu with printed ankle boots. Sonequa Martin-Green sported that mommy-to-be glow in a navy blue jumpsuit featuring a black lace applique and black sandals. Emily Kinney’s ivory skin tone stood out on the red carpet in a blush colored Nikki Rich cocktail dress with a bold print. Melissa McBride completed the girls only snapshot in a sheer brown top with matching wide-leg pants.
