She really did save the best for last! Vanessa Williams married Jim Skrip on Saturday, July 4, and the actress did it in high style. To walk down the aisle with her businessman beau, Williams, 52, chose a silk skirt and top by Carmen Marc Valvo, and wore the pieces together belted with a wide gold band.
The Trip to Bountiful Broadway star wore a traditional wedding veil with her long hair down and straight. On her feet were pointy-toe T-strap sandals.
Williams first met Skrip, also 52, in Egypt during a 2013 vacation, but it turned out that the pair were both from New York state. “You go across the world to find somebody who’s six hours away,” the new Mrs. Skrip told Philly.com in February 2014. (The pair held their wedding in and around Buffalo, N.Y., where the groom — and Williams’ mom — grew up.)
The actress and singer confirmed her engagement during a September 2014 appearance on The Queen Latifah Show, when she showed off her gorgeous diamond ring, and revealed that Skrip had proposed just a few weeks prior.
This is the third marriage for Williams. She shares daughters Melanie, 28, and Jillian, 26, and son Devin, 22, with ex-husband Ramon Hervey, to whom she was married from 1987 to 1997. She and NBA star Rick Fox split in 2005 after six years of marriage, and share daughter Sasha, 15.
