Will Kate Middleton Channel Grace Kelly on Her Wedding Day?

While the details of Kate Middleton's wedding dress remain a closely guarded secret (at this point, I'm surprised that Wet Seal hasn't been named one of the potential designers), I'm thinking that the bride-to-be might take her inspiration from another famous commoner-turned-royal: Grace Kelly.

In 1956, the Oscar-winning American actress married Prince Rainier of Monaco in a dress by MGM studio costume designer Helen Rose. It was created from 125-year-old Valenciennes rose-point lace, silk taffeta and 98 yards of tulle and took more than a dozen seamstresses six weeks to complete.

The dress was so stunning that it still serves as inspiration to super stylish brides like Nicole Richie and Ivanka Trump, who both wore wedding gowns reminiscent of Princess Grace. I would love to see Kate go for something similarly traditional and elegant, instead of a simple modern design.

If you want to have your own Grace Kelly bridal moment, here are two affordable (at least when it comes to wedding dresses) options:

The Temperley shrug is in a vintage creamy lace that can be worn as a jacket over a gown, or as a special occasion shrug later on. ($1275, net-a-porter.com)

I also love this White by Vera Wang gown from David's Bridal. It feels rich and luxe and elegant, plus it's sized 0-14. The lace illusion piece can be removed after ceremony into a strapless gown. ($1300, davidsbridal.com)
