Winona forever! Hollywood's reigning It Waif of the 1990s, Winona Ryder, hit a special screening of the new thriller Disconnect looking absolutely amazing — as if practically no time had passed since she first became the poster child for beautiful Gen-X slackers.

The Reality Bites actress, now 41, kept her outfit chic and simple for the April 8 screening in NYC: She wore a black pea coat over a black shirt and black skinny pants. But it was her makeup and hair that elevated her look. Her long brunette tresses were styled into a becoming and elegant blowout. A swipe of bright red lipstick added a punch of bold color.

Ryder, who stepped out of the spotlight after a humiliating shoplifting conviction in 2001, has, aside from a few select projects like 2010's Black Swan and last year's The Iceman, largely stayed on Hollywood's peripheries.

While promoting The Iceman at the Toronto International Film Festival this past summer, a reporter asked her, "So now do you feel welcome again in Hollywood?" "I don't know if I'm developing a little bit of a complex because I don't know if you're saying, 'We missed you!' or 'What are you doing here?'" Ryder responded. "I think for me, I started so young, and when you experience a lot of blessings and success when I did, usually you're told you get three years, and it's great just to have that."

"I'm actually…psyched to get older because I think you get more comfortable with yourself, and it's more interesting, and the roles — the size doesn't really matter. Usually those kinds of roles are more interesting," she continued. "For me as an actress. . . it takes something very special for me to want to leave my life."
