Aside from the Met Gala, the CFDA Awards is fashion’s biggest night! Celebrating the best of American design, the annual ceremony is not only attended by the best in the biz but by some of the most fashionable celebs around as well. In addition to honoring industry vets and up-and-comers, this year’s festivities (hosted by Issa Rae) saw Kim Kardashian receive the inaugural “Influencer Award.” The social media queen arrived at the event in a Grecian-inspired Rick Owens crop top and maxi skirt that showed off all of her curves and paved the way for one of the night’s biggest red carpet trends: bare midriffs.
While we are used to seeing mile-long legs and nearly naked dresses on the red carpet, stars showing off their toned tummies with crop tops and cool cutouts was a skin-baring revelation. Joining KKW in the trend were models like Kaia Gerber, Rosie Huntington Whiteley and Joan Smalls, who rocked everything from short suits to full skirts that put their abs on display.
