Alison Brie is best known for her perfect comedic timing but her style is equally on point. Here are five tricks the actress and producer, 34, uses to make sure she’s always a stunner on the red carpet.
Beauty DNA: 5 Secrets to Alison Brie’s Flirty Hair and Makeup
Brie cut several inches off her hair for the Netflix show Glow, which she showed off at the L.A. premiere of the series on June 21. “I hadn’t ever done a dramatic haircut — not in years anyway,” Brie told Entertainment Weekly the same month. “I brought in a picture of Sigourney Weaver in Alien. That is one of my favorite movies and so now [my character] Ruth and I have the same icon!”
The newlywed, who is married to Dave Franco, often calls on a halo of taupe shadow around her lids to play up her light eyes, as she did for the London premiere of How to Be Single in February 2016. It draws attention to their hue in a subtle way, so she can still pull off bright color on her lips at the same time!
Brie’s cheekbones were on display at the How to Be Single New York premiere in February 2016 — and she plays them up with makeup carefully. She told Vogue at the time, “You don’t want to over-contour, that’s [a] big no-no on my list. But I do like to lightly contour under my cheekbones.” Her go-to product: Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder.
When it comes to mascara, Brie also told Vogue, “I especially love to hit the bottom [lashes], so the whole eye is framed. You don’t want to go too heavy and create a darker shadow under your eye, but a few layers of mascara can really enhance your look.” This tip helped her stand out at the Sleeping with Other People premiere in Hollywood September 2015.
