Dobrev turned heads at New York City's annual MET Gala in a custom Monique Lhuillier gown and lace pants combo. The star's stylist, Ilaria Urbinati, told EW the pair collaborated on the Lhuillier look, fusing two of the designer's previous styles together to create the final stunning ensemble. "Nina always has a lot of input," Urbinati explains. "She knows her body and what works."

"The plunging back is my favorite part, and I actually feel really comfortable in it," Dobrev said of the black and white Naeem Kahn dress she wore to Elton John's annual Oscar viewing party to benefit his AIDS Foundation. "This was the first dress I tried on. I tried a few on afterwards, but this is the one I ended up choosing. The print is really beautiful and I felt like it elongated everything."
