Three weeks after debuting a striking blonde 'do at the 2013 Met Gala in New York City, the Oscar-winning actress reverted back to her more typical brunette shade. "I don't know that you could tell it by looking at me, but Debbie Harry was [my inspiration for going blonde]," she said in May. Hathaway's more recent brunette hue is for her role in Song One, a film produced by her husband Adam Shulman.
Celebrity hairstylist Tracey Cunningham took Kelly from brunette to blonde in April 2013, only to have the actress return to her original shade four weeks later. "Anything is possible with Tracey," Kelly tweeted in praise of her stylist during her short-lived stint as a blonde. "She's a hair color genius!"
Though there was initial speculation that Conrad used clip-ons to get a bangin' new look in May 2013, a rep for the author and fashion designer later confirmed Conrad and celeb hairstylist Kristin Ess did indeed opt for a cut. "I'm still getting used to the bangs," she told Us days after her cut. "I'll probably have them for a few weeks and then grow them out."
Major makeover! Glee guy Larsen, who plays Joe Hart on the FOX series, chopped off his signature dreadlocks in a drastic hair switch-up in May 2013. "I'm very much over my hair. If it was up to me, I'd have cut it a long time ago," he told TV Line in 2011. Summing up his new, shorter style, Larsen tweeted: "Just for the record, my neck feels freakin' awesome."
"She wanted to do something new for the Billboard Awards," a source tells Us of the "Come and Get It" singer, who had her locks highlighted in a lighter, ombre style at Nine Zero One Salon in West Hollywood in May 2013, just prior to the music award show. "Going lighter is something new for her."
Stylist Cesar Ramirez was inspired by the singer's "cool-girl edgy style" when chopping her blonde locks into a bob. "I wanted to do something that was fashion-forward and fresh by mixing a bit of rocker edge with some old-school hip hop flare," he told Us. "The color (baylayage) is a bit lighter and warmer for summer with a natural base."
During a five-hour salon visit in West Hollywood, Barrymore went from a rich auburn shade to a bright blonde hue. "I think the only rules about makeup is not to be shy," the founder of Flower cosmetics told Us. "Happiness is the best makeup. That's what comes out through the pores. That's what shines through the thickest pigment. Happiness is everything."
Hair today, gone tomorrow! Silver Linings Playbook star Lawrence lopped eight inches off her blonde 'do, showing off her new style at the 2013 GLAAD Awards. "She has never cut her hair this short, it's always been long. She was so excited to do the cut," her stylist Mark Townsend told Fashionista. "I was the nervous one! She kept saying, 'I think we should go shorter.'"
