Even though she didn't appear in any blockbuster films last year, Jennifer Lopez still managed to stun on Sunday's Oscars red carpet.

To go with her plunging, silver Zuhair Murad gown, the star, 42, opted for a manicure that was just as fashion-forward as her dress. Below, the American Idol judge's manicurist Tom Bachik tells Us Weekly how he created her dazzling tips.

"Jennifer Lopez's Oscar's look was all about 60's glamour with a modern interpretation, so it was important that her nail look matched this overall feel and aesthetic," Bachik explains. "We were excited to try something a bit more modern for the red carpet and create a nail look that could transition throughout the night, as she has a couple of wardrobe changes." (Lopez later slipped into a red, ombre Zuhair Murad design for the Vanity Fair after party.)
