Lauren Conrad temporarily tried out pink-tipped hair during a Fame Game book signing in April 2012, but it appears the fashion designer's latest look is a bit more permanent. When the 26-year-old Hills alum shared a series of pictures from her trip to India on Wednesday, March 27, she also showed off her accidental dye job.
"Lauren went to see the Holi Festival, which is a celebration of the start of spring and color on the full moon," a source tells Us Weekly. "Everyone throws pigment powder around in the air. Once you get covered, if you're blonde, it's stuck in your hair for weeks to months."
Conrad learned that the hard way, sharing a picture of her newly dyed 'do on Instagram. "So apparently it doesn't wash out," the former reality star wrote in the caption. "Looks like I'm sporting pink locks for the rest of the trip."
Judging from her Instagram selfie with pal Hannah Skvarla, the blonde beauty -- who kicks off her Infamous book tour June 11 in L.A. at Barnes & Noble -- is still stuck with pink locks; Conrad posted a picture with her "favorite travel buddy" on March 28.
