Candace Cameron Bure Reveals Hot Body Secrets, Runs Marathons With Former Full House Costar Andrea Barber
D.J. Tanner has gotten better with age. After performing on Dancing With the Stars Monday night, Candace Cameron Bure revealed to Us Weekly how she maintains her hot body. Plus, the mom of three dished on which former Full House costar she works out with!
"I work out four to five days a week. I lift heavy weights, that's what I enjoy doing to keep building muscle," the 37-year-old actress told Us after the show on March 31. "My cardio is minimal, which made it a little harder for the jive. That was a challenge for me because, as great shape as I'm in, I'm not in great cardio shape. I like strength and power moves and I like running races."
In fact, Bure is planning to run a marathon. The person who dragged her along for the challenge? None other than Andrea Barber, her longtime friend and former costar, who played Kimmy Gibler on Full House.
"We ran several races together!" Bure exclaimed to Us. "She runs marathons! I run shorter races, like 5K or 10K races, but with obstacles in them like Tough Mudder or a Spartan Race because I like the strength stuff and she likes long distances."
"Now that she's run a couple races with me, she's dragging me into doing a marathon," the actress added. "So I will be running a marathon at some point with Andrea."
Bure has shown off her long legs and svelte figure on the ABC dancing competition, but has still managed to wear "modest" costumes on the dance floor with partner Mark Ballas. On March 17, the former child star told Us she won't be the "sexiest one out there" because she wants to be "a good role model" for her children and husband Valerie Bure, 39. (The married couple of 18 years are parents to Natasha, 15, Lev, 14, and Maksim, 12.)
"We have not had any issue," Bure said of collaborating with Ballas on costume ideas. "Our styles and our tastes mesh really well and we're on the same page."
