Whatever you do, don't call Jennifer Lopez overweight!
In the December issue of Glamour, the 42-year-old American Idol host admits she once felt compelled to fire her manager after he criticized her curvy figure.
"I was just so infuriated that somebody said you couldn't have a little extra meat on you -- because I was by no means fat!" Lopez says. "That was so mean and closed-minded."
"I was like: 'No, this is who I am and this is the type of woman that I grew up with and it's beautiful. There's no reason to be anybody but myself.'"
Lopez, who did not offer her former manager's name, says she no longer feels pressure to change her shape. "I don't get that now," she tells Glamour. "I think people know better."
While her curves may no longer be a concern, the single star said she is slightly worried about growing older. "I mean, I'd like to think I'll feel great about myself and age gracefully," she says, "but then I think, 'Well, what if I do want a little bit of something?'"
Would she ever get plastic surgery? "I'm open to being open," Lopez says. "I'm not going to make a judgment on it because I don't have to yet."
