Haters gonna hate. On Tuesday, June 7, Lauren Bushnell hit back against social media followers who think she has gotten too skinny. The former Bachelor contestant, who is engaged to season 20 hunk Ben Higgins, posted an impressive mirror selfie of her abs on Snapchat, informing her critics that she has just been working out a lot.
“Still grubbin just workin hard thnx,” she captioned the photo along with a hamburger, monkey and worm emoji. The former flight attendant added a video of her squatting with weights on Snapchat, showcasing she can squat “#twoplates.”
Her husband-to-be attempted to defend her on Tuesday as well, but it apparently backfired.
The former ABC suitor posted a photo of Bushnell on Instagram with the caption “She’s mine. Straight Flexin. #fitgirl.” In the snapshot, Bushnell’s arms are half raised while she sits at a dinner table.
Bushnell, however, fretted that the pic would only further fuel the fire.
“@higgins.ben babe you are literally asking for trolls to comment on my weight. Also not actually flexing duh Get a better pic when I’m straight out of the gym n swoll n stuff,” she wrote on his post, before addressing the haters straight on.
“THIS IS THE EXACT SAME WEIGHT I WAS WHEN I STARTED THE BACHELOR THEN I DRANK WINE EVERY DAY WITH @amanda_stantonn AND THEN AFTER THE SHOW I DIDNT DRINK WINE EVERY DAY GET OFF MY SH*T THIS IS HOW GOD MADE ME BYE,” she wrote in another comment, giving her season 20 pal Amanda Stanton a shoutout.
