Pal: Denise Richards "Doing Great" Despite Sheen Drama
Denise Richard's ex-husband Charlie Sheen continues to make headlines for his rants and antics, but a buddy of the former Bond girl says she's not worried about her friend.
"She's doing great," Alison Sweeney told UsMagazine.com at Petco in NYC on Thursday. "She's awesome and she has her head on straight. She's got a wonderful heart."
The new Us Weekly reports that Sheen recently threatened Richards with physical harm after she tried to put distance between him and the their daughters -- Sam, 7, and Lola, 5. But the Biggest Loser host, 34, explained that Richards, 40, hasn't let her ex's scary shenanigans keep her from her charity work.
"Denise rescues animals and fosters them," said Sweeney, a fellow dog lover, who was at the Petco to promote Hills Science Diet Weight Loss System. "Denise is such a ray of sunshine and she just manages to live her life and hold her head high. I'm so impressed by her."
The busy moms became close through a supper club they recently started that includes such stars as Nancy O'Dell, Ali Landry, Candace Cameron, Lisa Rinna, Tori Spelling and Brooke Burke.
"Denise, Ali and I started talking about how we all had so much in common and yet we live completely different lives," said Sweeney, who is mom to Ben, 6, and Megan, 2, with hubby David Sanov. "Denise will email me and be like, 'I really need to see everybody.' Ali makes the whole thing look beautiful and Tori comes up with themes. It's this bonding experience where we pour out our hearts to each other."
