Angelina Jolie: Maddox and Pax Eat Crickets "Like Doritos"

Angelina Jolie has some adventurous eaters on her hands.

PHOTOS: Naughty star appetites

"My boys love to eat crickets. It's their favorite thing," the 36-year-old actress says in a video shoot for Louis Vuitton's Core Values campaign, which was shot on location in Cambodia (the country where she adopted Maddox, now 9).

PHOTOS: How Angelina has transformed over the years

"When I first gave it to them . . . I wanted them not to be turned off by something that was of their culture. They ate them like Doritos, and they wouldn't stop," Jolie says of Maddox and Pax, 7. "They brought to-go boxes home and I had to actually ban the cricket eating at a certain point because I was afraid they were going to get sick from too many."

Jolie herself has even indulged in the Southeast Asian countries delicacies. "They're good. They're like a potato chip."

Two things the Oscar winner hasn't tried? Tarantulas on a stick and spider soup. "It does seem like an odd thing to eat," Jolie admits of the tarantula pop. "I don't know if I can get around the fur, but you've got to try everything."

We all have our own tastebuds!! Who cares if her kids eat crikets? I guess you people do! I personally would love to try a criket, but I would be also very creeped out. I think it is cool she is letting her kids experience that stuff. There are actually more people selling bugs in America than you think too!!

Yeah, she gives more time and money to charity than most other celebriities. How nasty, right? Hahaha. It just proves how close minded some people are. If you don't want to try and eat them, then don't. Stop judging other people. It's also weird how people say they don't care, yet take the time to comment. Hmmm...

    And we care ... why?

Crickets are probably more healthy than what's in most American diets.

It's good that she's allowing her kids to try new things....but the spider foods....um???? How about not? Yep, I'm confident I can live life to the fullest without adding spiders to my plate!!! YUCK....and I say again YUCK!!!

I can't believe there are ppl on here opposed to Angie letting her kids try a food from another country! What is the big deal? If they hated it, she would not have forced them to eat it, but they loved it and she had to take it away so they wouldn't eat too much. Sounds like good parenting to me.

Its good that she wants them to know about their culture and that she too is experiencing it along with them.

A lot of thing that we don't know in other countries that we dare to eat or try. They are good and delicious. So what Crekits, frog, snake crocodiles, bats,is common in asian countries, that you see in the market place. I wont tell you more, you might be shock. But its normal for them, because they are far different from this country.. She's so funny and I like her guts. love her that she knows how to adjust with other culture of people.

It's only fitting that an insect would eat other insects.

Jolie -should have stayed in the rice fields---if she's that into crickets

@Ana Pereira, you sound very ignorant. Just because someone does not live in the country they were born in, doesn't make them less part of that country. It's commendable she is trying to keep them in touch with their roots and their culture. But according to you, their heritage doesn't mean anything because they're American now.

@ Jesse Andrew, you seem to think you're well-informed about women's health and how they should look. Unless you're a nutritionist or a gynecologist, kindly shut up. With respect to Angelina, I think what she's doing is great! I love that she's being open-minded about so many aspects of her kids' cultures; besides, I've read that insects pack way more protein than beef, and are much healthier.
