Jay-Z: How Fatherhood Has Already Changed Me

Even Jay-Z has insecurities!
The 42-year-old mogul and wife Beyonce are expecting a little girl in February, but like most first-time fathers, Jay-Z is nervous!
On Thursday in Hollywood at GQ's Man of the Year Party, Jay-Z (real name: Shawn Carter) admitted his less-than-perfect relationship with his own father makes him "a little paranoid" about having a child himself.

"I don't think any person or male goes into a relationship thinking they aren't going to be there," he said. "You just never know."

Jay-Z's father, Adnis Reeves, abandoned him at age 11. "If your dad died before you were born, yeah, it hurts, but it's not like you had a connection with something that was real," he explained to GQ magazine. "Not to say it's any better, but to have that connection and then have it ripped away was, like, the worst. My dad was such a good dad that when he left, he left a huge scar. He was my superhero."

It wasn't until 2003 that Jay-Z, then 33, reunited with his father. "[I talked about] what it did to me, what it meant, asked him why. There was no real answer. There was nothing he could say, because there's no excuse for that. There really isn't," he said. "So there was nothing he could say to satisfy me, except to hear me out. And it was up to me to forgive and let it go."
So how has impending fatherhood changed Jay-Z so far? "I've gotten taller," he quipped.

12How do you people know he will be a great father what makes you think just because he is married to this woman he wont turn his back when something else comes along. Some of you people talk about him like he is some type of God, he is human and walks and goes to the bathroom the same way we do the only difference is he has money. People get a life and get a grip because I for one am sick of hearing and reading about this baby and her being pregnant and all the other SH*T that some of you post. I just cannot get over it some of you act like this is the second coming...NOT...GET A GRIP...GET A LIFE.
I really do believe by far Jay Z. is gonna be outstanding daddy! Sure, he had plenty of his times to just be chillin' & hangin' out with differant women & friends, but when it comes to his baby, that little one comes 1st!
i used to love jay-z..damn my 8th grade year book even shouts him out.lol. but recentlu i heard that he worships satan and every time i hear one of his songs i get creeped out #illuminatiscaresme

this is wonderful and all but its not Jay-z first kid. He already has a son who lives in Trinidad with the mom. He must mean this is the first child that he will be around 24/7 which is understandable. Plus its his actual wife so i understand. ijs
