The fuss was about dad — according to Yeezy! Kanye West creatively explained his daughter North‘s headline-making temper tantrum at his Adidas fashion show in NYC on Thursday, Feb. 13.
Vice‘s fashion section i-D interviewed the rapper backstage at his show after Nori’s front row meltdown on Kim Kardashian‘s lap moments before the runway show started. The reality scion was photographed bawling and howling on her mother’s lap while Vogue editor Anna Wintour — seated to Kim’s left — appeared mildly miffed by North’s behavior.
The other stars seated front row (minus Taylor Swift, who was a no-show!) looked at the tot sympathetically as she cried and flailed her arms.
While the true reason for 19-month-old Nori’s tirade is unknown, West made fun of the incident backstage with i-D. “Maybe she was just scared for her daddy,” West, 37, remarked. “She just wanted people to stop being mean to her daddy. Because she knows that her daddy loves the world and just wants to make it a more beautiful place.”
West was heavily criticized by people on the Internet this past week, after the rapper rushed the stage — in what many people initially thought was joke — before Beck accepted the Grammy for Album of the Year on Sunday.
The rapper addressed the incident (yet again!) with Andre Leon Talley on Thursday.
“I feel good. I feel like a human being. I feel like a man,” West said of the incident. “A man can make mistakes, a man can have an opinion. A man can be hypocritical. I feel like I have blood in my veins. That my blood hasn’t been turned cold by the concept of celebrity, or missed opportunities or perception.”
