Just call it a back-up plan!

Maria Menounos may not be ready to be a mom just yet, but that doesn't mean she isn't thinking about her fertility future.

Speaking to her parents on Dr. Drew's Lifechangers Thursday, the Extra correspondent, 33, announced her desire to have little ones. "I'm going to freeze my eggs." she said. "I have decided I am going to have kids but to make it realistic, because I'm not going to do it for a few years, we're going to freeze our eggs so that we have no problems down the line."

Why now? "I'm 33 and I decided that I know that I have a couple of years of work I want to get to and then do it. I figured this is kind of an insurance policy," she explained, "To a degree. To protect myself, from when I want to do it when I'm older."

Menounos has been committed to longtime love, Kevin Undergaro, for over a decade — but she admitted this summer that she's not quote prepared to walk down the aisle.

"When I have kids, maybe I'll do it then," she mused. "But for me and Kevin, it's been so long that in our minds we are and we always have been [married]. Marriage can be a beautiful thing for some people but I don't think it should be a pre-requisite or something that's forced on people. We're happy, it's working. I'm not really a traditional person anyway."
