Cheers to the new dads! Nate Berkus and his husband, Jeremiah Brent, have welcomed a daughter into their family, celebrity interior designer Berkus revealed via Facebook on March 25. Their little girl, born via surrogate on Monday, is named Poppy.
"Jeremiah & I are thrilled to announce the arrival of our daughter, Poppy Brent-Berkus, born via surrogate on March 23, 2015. We are so excited to finally be a family of 3!" Berkus, 43, wrote in the birth announcement. "As anyone with a newborn knows, we have our work cut out for us but couldn't be happier to be embarking on this life changing journey that is parenthood. Thank you all for your well wishes and support."
Poppy's birth is the latest in happy news at the Berkus-Brent household. In May 2014, Berkus and his husband, an interior designer who formerly assisted Rachel Zoe, were married by Oprah Winfrey Network co-president Sheri Salata at New York City's famed public library. Berkus mentor Oprah Winfrey, sister Estelle, and Dr. Mehmet Oz attended the ceremony and feted the couple before they headed off to a honeymoon in Anguilla.
Berkus and Brent, 29, announced news of their pregnancy via surrogate in September 2014, telling fans 'we have had the most special year and its JUST become even more beautiful."
