Nick Lachey "Doing Everything I Can" to Have a Baby with Vanessa

Are little Lacheys in the near future?

If things go according to plan for newlyweds Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo, absolutely! The 37-year-old Sing-Off host told E! News he's "doing everything I can" to ensure Minnillo, 30, gets pregnant soon.

"Trust me, it would make me very happy," he said. "Family is very important. It's very important to us, and I'm sure that will be around the corner."

Lachey told Parade magazine earlier this summer he wanted to become a father "sooner than later."

"I'm getting up there," he said. "I've gotta catch up with my brother. [Drew's] got two and I've got zero, so the pressure is on me!"

After the former boy-bander and the Wipeout host said "I do" in July, Minnilo updated her Twitter bio to include "wifey by night" and "wannabe mommy all the time."

Why does it have to be competetion for Nick & Drew? Of Course Drew has 2 kids! He is happily married. What if Drew has 6 kids? How in the world is Nick going to catch up to Drew? Having kids is not a race.

They have been together for years and did this this right way.. Dating (living together) engagement marraige and now babies...why should they wait?

Kinda pathetic that he's in competition with his brother to have kids. Relax, Nick, you just got married. Enjoy being a married couple for awhile before you have kids. I speak from experience. Having kids changes everything.
