Pregnant Melissa Rycroft: "I'm Ready for the Big Belly Bump"

What's Melissa Rycroft looking forward to most during her pregnancy?

Currently at the beginning of her second trimester, Rycroft, 27, tells Us, "I just have a little pooch. It looks like I've just put on a few pounds. I think that's a state no girl likes to be in, so I'm ready for the big belly bump. I've also heard from my friends that once you get the big belly bump, it's kind of at the point where you're ready to have the kid come out and you're just done being pregnant. It's a short window to enjoy, but I can't wait!"
Rycroft, who announced her pregnancy news exclusively to Us Weekly, says she recently returned to the gym after "pregnancy fatigue" forced her to take a break during her first trimester.

"I'm laying low a little bit -- I'm just doing maybe 30 minutes of cardio a day," she tells Us. "I'm laying off the weights and I really want to start yoga and Pilates because it's easier on your body when you're pregnant. It's not as hard on your joints. My goal is to keep a really strong core. That's what I want to do."
As for pregnancy cravings, Rycroft - who wed insurance agent Tye Strickland last year - says she isn't yearning for anything too unhealthy.

"When I think about pizza, burgers, chicken fingers or foods like that, it really makes me kind of cringe," she tells Us. "My body wants fruit. I eat apples like they're going out of style!"
Rycroft says she's been relying on Jenny McCarthy's Belly Laughs book for pregnancy pointers.
"I've also gotta bunch of apps on my iPad that kind of document day-by-day what's going on," she tells Us. "It's a fun process. This only happens one time for the very first time, so we're trying to savor everything, every new change and every new milestone."

Geez people are mean. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being excited about having your first child. Doesn't mean you think you're the first to do it. Fanta is caffeine free, perfectly fine for her to drink. Waiting 7 months after marriage to get pregnant is not rushing it, at least she was married. Stop being so quick to judge others and if you don't like her,don't read about her.
Why does she keep wearing red nail polish? Her fingers look so nubby. She needs to let them grow.

oh and to the person who commented about her drinking soda...drinking orange soda is better than mountain due and the doctor tells you it is ok to drink a moderate amount of soda. If that was all she was drinking then there would be an issue, but there is nothing wrong with her drinking soda.
When I was pregnant i hated the stage before the baby bump..no one could tell you were pregnant and you just looked fat lol...good luck!!!
you can't always plan when your going to have a child. those calling Ms Rycroft a W**** or S*** are insensitive. maybe she's one of those women that can't use birth control of any kind. and I would know because I can't as my mom has had hormone reactive breast cancer and adverse reactions to the pill and the BC Patch. 7 months after marriage isn't rushing it. as getting married while pregnant doesn't make you a dirty woman. so what if she's graving soda in the 2nd trimester if kept to a minimum it's not dangerous as neither is coffee my mom craved coffee when she was pregnant with my younger brother 23 years ago and he turned out fine leave Lissy alone she's never done anything to you and she has a new show coming out so that's why she's been in the press alot lately
For people concerned about the soda...when I was pregnant what they suggested be eliminated was caffeine...I dont think orange fanta has caffeine...and as for deleting comments about Shiloh...they did the same when Eric Dane posed nude with his newborn...most of the comments thought it to be distateful...therefore all comments were deleted.
Congrats Melissa! Your baby is going to be beautiful :) For most everyone else: 1. Who cares if she's drinking soda? This picture could have been taken before her pregnancy! 2. She got married last summer. Waiting 7 months is not "rushing" it. 3. I hardly hear about her, so I'd hardly call her a famewh*re. She also has stayed working in the entertainment field unlike a lot of other "celebs" we hear about all of the time. 4. If you have those opinions, why did you read this in the first place?
Boy the comments must have been bad on the article about Shiloh frolicing in the pool for US to delete them all and not allow comments! She is wearing boy's swimming trunks and is topless! She really does think she's a boy.

Wasn't aware 7mo after marriage was "rushing" to get pregnant. Most are pregnant and unmarried or pregnant when they get married. People judging with such scrutiny kills me. She has a pic taken with an orange soda in her hand and let's jump on that too-just let her be
I'm really sure she already has a "Baby Bump" good grief, in her dreams. She has 7 months to go, maybe she quit wearing her SPANX!!!!!!
