Almost every parent starts out thinking their kid is the cutest, smartest, funniest kid ever to grace the planet. But not Ryan Reynolds. During an appearance on Live! With Kelly and Michael on Thursday, Feb. 5, the Voices actor joked that his and Blake Lively's 1-month-old baby daughter is pretty run-of-the-mill.

"Everyone thinks their baby's a genius," Reynolds, 38, told hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan. "People find it delightfully refreshing when I tell them, 'My baby? Totally average. 100 percent average.'"

The actor then noted that he had a friend who said his kid was reciting passages from Anton Chekhov. "That baby's a genius," he began. "And probably — let's be honest — a bit of an [expletive]. Smart kid, but keep him away from me."

The Mississippi Grind hunk and wife Lively, 27, welcomed their first child (whose name they have yet to reveal) shortly before the New Year. They've been in baby heaven ever since.

Told by Ripa that he smelled like baby powder on Thursday, the proud new dad deadpanned, "Yeah, that's not going to change anytime soon. If I don't get any sleep soon, I'll change that to arsenic."

So he's tired then? "I'm happily not getting any sleep. These days I just sort of think of blinking as taking tiny little naps all day," he quipped. "It's what you do. You're up all night, but it's weird — you're, like, happy about it in a strange way. If anything else woke up every 45 minutes during the night, demanding to see my wife's breasts, you kill it. But, you know, a baby, you're like, 'Aw, woohoo!'"
