18Actually Mike, It takes a really long time to adopt babies here. Babies 2 and under are actually highly sought after. The demand is quite immense bc so many women are unable to bear children. My cousin waited 5 years before finally receiving her baby. In fact she was a pediatric nurse and her husband works with troubled youth. That and they were both in there late 20's at the time so they were in an ideal position to be parents. But still, 5 years. Some ppl just dont want to wait that long to be parents. The problem is that everyone wants babies. Foster homes are overflowing here with kids needing a good home. But its hard to find ppl willing to take in a grown child. Sorry for getting off topic.
I have a son with Down syndrome and these children frequently need heart surgery very young and are delayed in their motor development. Why aren't they being specific about her "special needs" whatever they are?
What's wrong with adopting from your own Country? There are Children that need help/Homes as much as anyone else that we need to support right here in the U.S.A! Just because of this, I will no longer watch or support Heigl's Movies.

Oh my God they are both so pretty. I'm glad she addopted her baby. I admire people who addopt kids from different countries. People should still addopt a baby even if they have their own children there is nothing wrong with that. They are giving love to a child who lost his/her parents. I'm only 17 years old but when I turn 30 I would love to addopt a Russian baby. There are many homeless kids in Russia from the ages of 5-17 they have sex for money they do drugs and the police beats them. The government doesn't care about them. I will addopt a baby and save her from having a bad life in Russia.:)

she adopted from Korea because her sister is Korean, and was adopted. she also adopted a child with some disabilities, but i am not sure what.

What happened? she can't get pregnant? So she decided to adoption? AS long as she is happy. ANON....baby walk early as 10 months old or less but it takes on all different baby walk. Don't be expect that your baby is superboy. Give me a break. My son stop using pacifier at 6 months old. My boy is a truly superboy! ha ha

Seventeen, 17! months and just started walking... amazing. My son started walking at 9 months old. Why did it take a small baby so darn long to learn how to walk. I thought orientals were smart???
It's great that she chose a child with developmental issues (that is what other reports have stated) Maybe Katherine will learn to be modest and humble.
