Setting the record straight. Adele told fans at her Saturday, August 14, show in Los Angeles that despite rumors, she will not be performing at the Super Bowl next February — for a very simple reason.
“First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl,” she told the audience. “I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really … I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no. I’m sorry. Maybe next time, for my next album, because I’m going to do a dance album next time. So maybe I’ll do it then.”
The 28-year-old songstress was referring to reports by the U.K.’s Sun that “organizers are doing absolutely everything they can to try to persuade her to sign up.”

Adele is best known for her soulful ballads and slower tempo hits, which makes her selection as a Super Bowl performer less likely.
Last year’s Super Bowl halftime show famously made headlines with a powerhouse trio of Beyoncé, Chris Martin and Bruno Mars. Beyoncé s performance, in particular, sparked controversy after critics slammed her incorporation of dancers dressed in military-style outfits and obvious references to the Black Panthers.
On Saturday, the British songstress took the opportunity to address another rumor that has been floating around on the periphery.
“I’m having a cheese baby,” the singer joked, caressing her stomach to mock reports that she might be pregnant. “Stupid rumors. They’re so f–king stupid,” she said.
