Better than a Christmas miracle. Amy Schumer bought back her family’s old farm and surprised her father, Gordon, on Monday, December 19, with an early Christmas present. The comedian has previously revealed that her family lost the farm and went bankrupt after her father was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when she was 12.
"Video from the farm when I was running away in the cornfield and my dad was taunting me because I wanted him to come with me," Schumer captioned an Instagram clip taken from a home video of herself as a little girl. "We lost the farm when we lost everything else. But today I got to buy it back for him."
The funnywoman, whose family moved to Long Island, New York, after losing their farm, also shared a screenshot from a FaceTime call with her dad, who currently resides in an assisted-living facility.
“Today I bought my father's farm back,” she wrote alongside the image of her dad looking happy on Instagram while FaceTiming her.
The Trainwreck star has always had a soft spot for her father.
Back in April, she set up a FaceTime call with Gordon and his celebrity crush, Goldie Hawn, who she met while filming their new movie Snatched over the summer.
"Face timing with the goddess @goldiehawn who made my fathers dreams come true," the bestselling author captioned a video on Twitter of Gordon chatting with Hawn. "You're the love of my life. In real life," Schumer's father could be heard telling the First Wives Club actress in the video.
