Aubrey Morris has passed away at the age of 89

Actor Aubrey Morris has passed away at the age of 89. The veteran star, who is known best for his role of P.R. Deltoid in 1971's A Clockwork Orange, died on Wednesday, July 15, his agent confirmed to the BBC.

Morris started his acting career on the small screen before making his big-screen debut in the 1960s. The British thespian's early film work includes roles in Night Caller From Outer Space with John Saxon and Maurice Denham, The Sandwich Man with Bernard Cribbins and Dora Bryan, and Up the Junction with Suzy Kendall and Dennis Waterman.

A native of Portsmouth, England, Morris got his big break in the 1970s. He starred alongside Malcolm McDowell, Patrick Magee, Adrienne Corri, and Michael Bates, among others, in Stanley Kubrick's famed adaptation of Anthony Burgess' A Clockwork Orange. After playing the probation officer, the star went on to land a role in 1973's The Wicker Man with the late Christopher Lee.

Morris continued to act as he aged, making cameos in shows such as Murder, She Wrote, Boy Meets World, and Deadwood. Earlier this year, the late actor appeared in an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, playing Dr. Zimmerman.

Fans took to Twitter to mourn Morris after the news of his death broke, calling the actor "fantastic," "fabulous," and "amazing."
