Avril Lavigne is gearing up for her second wedding, and this time around she plans to do it right. The 28-year-old singer told Chelsea Handler that she's going to have an over-the-top wedding for her trip back down the aisle with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger.
"I know you were married once, and that didn't work out, obviously," Handler said on Chelsea Lately Thursday, April 11.
"It didn't work out," Lavigne agreed, referring to her marriage to Sum 41's Deryck Whibley from 2006 to 2010. "But it was great . . . Apparently I'm the marrying kind."
And she's also the wedding planning kind. "I'm gonna go all out this time," Lavigne told Handler. "There's going to be a theme. I want to have a lot of fun with it and go kinda nuts this time."
"What kind of theme?" the late-night host asked. "The theme is the wedding. What other theme do you need?"
"Like crazy attire and colors," the "Complicated" singer explained, without wanting to give too much away.
Lavigne and Kroeger, 38, met in the recording studio last summer and bonded over the fact that they're both Canadian and love "drinking beer." Lavigne joked, "We have a lot in common."
