What a night! Brie Larson hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time on Saturday, May 7 — and she gave us plenty of memorable moments.
The Oscar-winning actress, 26, kicked off the show with a Mother’s Day–theme monologue, in which she quipped that every kid should celebrate by watching her movie Room with their moms. Larson then hugged her mom, Heather, who joined her on stage for the opening number, and thanked her for her support.
Larson also starred alongside Kate McKinnon and Cecily Strong in a hilarious sketch titled “Near-Death Experience,” which was a spinoff of the January sketch where Ryan Gosling couldn’t keep it together.
Later in the evening, the SNL cast re-created the resurrection of Jon Snow from Game of Thrones, which left Larson pleading, “Bring him back to life, already!” as she stood over his lifeless body.
When Snow, played by Pete Davidson, was eventually revived, he explained, “I miss my family. Take me to Bran. I want to see what Bran’s up to.”
Musical guest Alicia Keys returned to the Saturday Night Live stage for the third time to perform two songs off her upcoming album, The Gospel. After belting her new single, “Common,” she returned once more to debut a brand-new track titled “Hallelujah.”
