And she’s back. Britt McHenry is set to return to ESPN this weekend, an ESPN rep confirmed to Sports Illustrated. The Washington, D.C.-based reporter was suspended last week after she completely lost it and verbally assaulted a female parking attendant.
According to Sports Illustrated, McHenry, who called the lot clerk fat and uneducated, has a plethora of assignments ahead of her, and will appear on SportsCenter this weekend covering a to-be-determined sporting event.
“She knows she made a mistake,” ESPN senior coordinating producer Seth Markman told SI. “She’s owned up to it. I think she is just really anxious to get back to work.”
Following her awful outburst, McHenry, 28, apologized on Twitter. “In an intense and stressful moment, I allowed my emotions to get the best of me and said some insulting and regrettable things,” she wrote. “As frustrated as I was, I should always choose to be respectful and take the high road. I am so sorry for my actions and will learn from this mistake.”
