Columbus Short could really use Olivia Pope's help right about now. The Scandal alum was arrested after getting into a scuffle with a bar security guard in Dallas, TX on Friday, July 4, TMZ reports.
The 31-year-old actor was drinking at Katy Trail Ice House for four hours during the Fourth of July holiday before leaving without paying his tab, the site reports. When stopped by a security guard, Short reportedly accused the employee of racism and a fight ensued. The former ABC star was then arrested for public intoxication and taken to jail.
The incident comes just weeks after Short was ordered to pay $21,000 in spousal support and child support to his estranged wife Tanee Short. Columbus was charged with a misdemeanor spousal battery on Valentine's Day and Tanee filed for divorce in April. The pair share a 2-year-old daughter.
Short's professional life has also made headlines this year. In April, he announced his departure from the political drama Scandal two months after allegedly punching a man during another bar brawl. Despite speculation, creator Shonda Rhimes tweeted that his character Harrison Wright would not be recast.
