Los Angeles Coroners have officially determined the cause of death for Marie Osmond's 18-year-old son Michael Bryan, UsMagazine.com has learned -- and no drugs were involved.

Autopsy findings confirm that Bryan died from "multiple blunt trauma" after jumping from the eighth floor of his L.A. apartment building Feb. 26. No drugs were found in his system; Bryan had struggled with substance abuse as well as depression, and entered a rehab in 2007.

Michael was one of Marie's five adopted children (she had eight children overall) with her ex-husband, Brian Blosil. (Michael had changed his last name from "Blosil" to "Bryan.")

Before his death, he had been a student at L.A. Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. "He was always smiling," a grieving, perplexed pal told Us. Yet Bryan left a despondent note for a friend mintues before taking his own life.

"He was a man of his word. He wasn't a talker, he was a doer. He was reliable," his 20-year-old sister Rachel Blosil eulogized at his March 8 funeral in Provo, Utah.

On Tuesday, Marie Osmond, 50, re-emerged on Twitter to thank her supporters. "Your messages have been so sweet," she wrote. "Thank you so much. I'm grateful for all of you."

This is what happens when you have more children than you can adequately give attention to.

I love how people talk about things they don't know. Michael friends said he was not gay. There is no prove of it only a stereotype that he went to a fashion school. Wow talk about judging. It seemed to do more with him being adopted rather then his sexual preferences. So stop using his death to slander his religion. A mother is grieving over her son. Stop using her pain to advance your predjudice of her church

I'm going to go out on a limb and say he died from jumping from a building and going splat. It's called suicide. Thanks Corners office for clearing that up for us

Lola, what is truly disgusting is the Mormon church and its condemnation of gay people. Their stance was so severe and hateful, this poor guy took his own life. For you to dismiss the seriousness of a man taking his own life because he was not free, in his religion or family, to be who he was born to be, shows your stupidity and ignorance.

I am with Ugh. Come on, religiously conservative family, MALE kid in LA fashion school???? Yes there ARE other possibilities, but 20 year olds get depressed and self-medicate for a reason, and as loving as the family probably is, being gay probably isn't welcomed.

ACTUALLY LOLA THE FACT THAT HE WAS GAY WAS A FACTOR IN HIS DEATH, THE MORMON CHURCH THAT MARIE LOVED SO MUCH WAS SO ANTI-GAY IT DROVE HIM TO JUMP OFF A BUILDING

  • April 21, 2010 - 11:26pm Lola

Who cares if he was gay or not? That's disgusting to even bring it up. It doesn't matter. Someone lost their son, their brother, their friend and this is all you can say?? Disgusting.

@Ugh, perhaps reading material other than the National Enquirer or listening to more relevant people than Roseanne Barr would be in order. There is no proof this young man was gay. My continued condolences to the Osmond family in their tragic loss.
