Breaking News: Dexter's Michael C. Hall Has Cancer

Dexter star Michael C. Hall has been diagnosed with cancer.
The actor, 38, said in a statement Wednesday that he is being successfully treated for Hodgkin's lymphoma and added that he was fortunate to be diagnosed with a "treatable and curable condition."

He also thanked his doctors and nurses for their expertise.
"The Hodgkin's lymphoma is in complete remission and has been for some time," the actor's spokesperson, Craig Bankey, told UsMagazine.com. "The treatment will continue as planned."

The illness is not stopping him from attending Sunday's Golden Globe Awards. Hall, who is nominated for his role as a serial killer in the Showtime series, still plans to attend the ceremony with his wife -- and Dexter costar -- Jennifer Carpenter.

Bankey said Hall will return to production on the drama's fifth season later this year.

To the person inquiring earlier, it said he was fighting Hodgkins.
Is anyone reading this? It says that "the Hodgkin's lymphoma is in complete remission" - wouldn't that mean that he HAD cancer, not HAS? Maybe I am completely wrong and will retract my statement but sometimes US really does try to sensationalize things. If he really is in complete remission then to say that he HAS cancer is just wrong.

MCH deserves the golden globe, he is an amazing actor and dexter is one of the best series of 2009......I am really sad about his cancer, but I know he is gonna be ok and ready to play dexter later this year

I selfishly immediately thought of Dexter, one of my favorite shows and the consequences on the show. But really, it is truly very sad. Thoughts and prayers to him and his family. Health should always come first.
