At various points throughout the very tense, combative meeting, voters seated on the stage were given the chance to ask the two candidates questions directly.
“The Affordable Care Act is not affordable,” one audience member began. “What will you do to bring costs down?”
Clinton, 68, deferred to Trump, 70, to be first to answer the question. “Go ahead, Donald,” she said, motioning toward the side of the stage where the questioner was seated.
“No, I’m a gentleman, Hillary,” Trump sniped back. “Go ahead.”
As Clinton made her way toward the audience member to answer the question, the real estate mogul trailed not far behind, standing directly behind her for the entirety of her answer and maintaining a stern face as she spoke.
The internet quickly seized on the opportunity to comment on the GOP presidential hopeful’s odd behavior.
