Living life together in the fast lane! Congratulations are in order for Verizon IndyCar series driver Graham Rahal and NHRA driver Courtney Force, who announced their engagement on Thursday, Nov. 27.
Rahal, 25, drives for the IZOD IndyCar Series, and Force drag races for John Force Racing. The couple, who started dating in late 2013, were vacationing in Venice, Italy when Rahal broke the happy news on Twitter.
“Happily engaged to my best friend and lady of my dreams,” Rahal tweeted. “Can’t wait to share our lives together.”
Rahal just completed his second season with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, the team co-owned by his father, Bobby Rahal, the 1986 Indianapolis 500 winner. In 2008, the Ohio native became the youngest winner of an Indy car race in his first Verizon IndyCar Series. He set records again the following year by becoming the youngest Verizon IndyCar Series pole winner.
Force, 26, is the youngest daughter of John Force, the most successful drag racer in history. Force, who hails from California, became the 100th winning female driver in Funny Car NHRA history when she proved victorious at the Kansas Nationals this past May.
The racing power couple hasn’t set a wedding date yet, but took to social media to share some adorable engagement pics Force showed off her new bling.
“…So lucky to have an incredible man by my side. Looking forward to our future!” Force shared on Instagram.
