There's a new Grinch in town! Internet sensation Grumpy Cat is set to star in her first movie—Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Lifetime is set to bring the famous feline to television this holiday season. Spongebob SquarePants' Tim Hill and Jeff Morris are behind the script, which revolves around a pet-store cat that is perpetually overlooked and a 12-year-old girl who can communicate with her.
"It brings fun and irreverence that we haven't had at Lifetime," Vice President of Original Movies Arturo Interian told THR.
Interian went on to describe the upcoming TV movie as "a little Home Alone and a little Die Hard," and said the film will also feature cameos from other famous Internet memes.
Grumpy Cat, whose real name is Tardar Sauce (a misspelling of the condiment in reference to the cat's coloring), became an Internet sensation in 2012 when her owner Tabatha Bundesen's brother posted a photo of the cat on Reddit. Since making her Internet debut, the kitty's precious face has been featured on everything from books to even a coffee product.
No official premiere date has been released for the flick.
