Mommy's night out on the town! Hilary Duff looked like she was in good spirits as she and several friends smiled and laughed at the Shamrock Tattoo parlor in West Hollywood on Saturday, March 16.

The former Disney star, 25, rocked a bright red lip and messy locks for her night off from mommy duties, an onlooker tells Us. Duff wore tight black jeans, a dark green tank top (perhaps getting into the St. Patrick's Day spirit?) and a black scarf and was chatty with her group of friends, which included older sister Haylie, 28.

When asked who was going to be getting inked that night, the group of girls excitedly exclaimed, "All of us!"

Duff later shared her delicate design of choice on Instagram -- a tiny red heart on her outer left wrist.

"All is full of love…" she captioned the shot, which also showed off her daring red lip color. In another snap, the actress shared a shot of two matching tattoos (presumably one being her own) -- this time with a simple circle with a "2 cent" logo in the middle.

She later also posted photos of herself mugging with a gal pal.

Duff, who is mother to 11-month-old son Luca with husband Mike Comrie, definitely worked hard for her night off. The young mom recently opened up about losing all her post-baby weight through several strenuous workouts.

"My one trainer helped me lose a sh-t ton of weight," she told Us in February, revealing an impressive 30-pound weight loss. "His name is Gabe Johns and he is amazing. He's a boxing trainer and he comes to my house. I live in the canyon, so we just run. He runs my ass up and down the hill."
