Taylor Swift avoided any bad blood moments between her ex-boyfriend John Mayer and frenemy Katy Perry by employing a smart, polite strategy at Drake’s 30th birthday bash on Sunday, October 23, sources exclusively tell Us Weekly

“Taylor stayed at her table [with the] crew she came with,” an insider tells Us of the singer-songwriter, who was unaware that both Perry and Mayer would be at the party, which was held at West Hollywood’s newly opened club Delilah. “Taylor was ready to party when she got there, but when she realized Katy and John were there, she just stayed put at her table,” the insider adds of how Swift, who arrived at the bash with pals including Karlie Kloss, handled the situation. “She didn’t want to make a big scene and leave when she saw they were there too.”

Perry, another source tells Us, didn’t mind that Swift was in attendance. “Katy didn’t care that Taylor was there, she’s above all that,” the second source tells Us. “She was just there to have a good time.”

As previously reported, Mayer and Perry, who dated on and off for years, exchanged pleasantries.

“John approached Katy and they talked – they’re on good terms,” the second source tells Us. “Seeing John is like seeing an old friend,” the insider added of Perry, who is happily dating Orlando Bloom. (Bloom, for his part, missed the party because he’s currently filming in China.)

In case you need a refresher: Mayer and Swift dated in 2009. And as fans are painfully aware, Perry and Swift have a very complicated past. In a September 2014 Rolling Stone interview, Swift insinuated that Perry “basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour” of hers by allegedly stealing some of Swift’s backup dancers. The leggy 1989 songstress’ song “Bad Blood” is widely believed to be about their feud.

In July, their feud was reignited after Swift’s ex Calvin Harris dragged Perry into their breakup drama during a Twitter rant. “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it,” the DJ tweeted.

“Everyone had a great time [though], there was no drama” another source previously told Us of the star-studded fete, which was also attended by A-listers such as Jamie Foxx, Zoë Kravitz and French Montana.
