A trio of exes and enemies! Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and John Mayer all attended Drake‘s 30th birthday party at Delilah in Los Angeles on Sunday, October 23 — and surprisingly, no blood was spilled (we think).
The Toronto native rapper celebrated the big 3-0 in style at the West Hollywood hot spot with a slew of A-list guests including Jamie Foxx and French Montana, but Swift, Perry and Mayer likely overshadowed the rest of the pack, or at least on social media.
The 26-year-old “Shake It Off” singer (who arrived with girl squad members Karlie Kloss and the Haim sisters) looked stunning in a black bandeau bra and a leather skirt, which she paired with a Meshki dulce duster trench coat. Her longtime nemesis Perry, 31, arrived in a gorgeous semi-sheer black dress and a bedazzled choker. Mayer, 39, meanwhile, donned a black suit jacket, pants and a white button-down shirt.
Inside the club, guests enjoyed Drake’s new whiskey, Virginia Black. As for the exes? “Katy and John did talk to each other,” a source tells Us Weekly, adding, “But the conversation wasn’t for long.”
A second insider adds, “Everyone had a great time and got along. No drama.”
As fans know, the threesome have a long, complicated past. Swift and Perry had a falling out years ago after the blonde bombshell heavily insinuated in a September 2014 Rolling Stone interview that the “Roar” entertainer “basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour” by allegedly stealing some of her backup dancers. The feud is widely believed to be the inspiration behind Swift’s hit “Bad Blood.”
Perry was later dragged into Calvin Harris and Swift’s tumultuous June 2016 split when he name-dropped her in a lengthy Twitter rant about his ex. “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it,” the Scottish DJ, 32, tweeted in July. (Months later, Perry told a fan on Twitter that she’d collaborate with Swift “if she says sorry.”)
Mayer, meanwhile, dated both of the pop stars. He and the “Blank Space” songstress dated in 2009. The couple, who collaborated on 2010’s “Half of My Heart,” later took their messy split to the recording studio, where she recorded the not-so-subtle “Dear John” (on 2010’s Speak Now) and he penned “Paper Doll” (on 2013’s Paradise Valley).
Perry and the “Gravity” rocker also had their fair share of ups and downs. They dated on and off from 2012, following her divorce from Russell Brand, to 2015. She is currently dating Orlando Bloom, while Mayer was spotted cozying up to Demi Lovato the day before Drake’s party.
And if things weren’t already confusing enough, Drake’s most recent ex and close Perry confidante, Rihanna, was not at the birthday bash as she’s reportedly filming Ocean’s 8 in New York City.
