Space black dreams crushed. A new photo of the alleged iPhone 7 was recently leaked. According to a photo obtained by the Next Web and published on Italian tech website Macitynet.it on Wednesday, July 13, the alleged iPhone 7 will look similar to the iPhone 6S and will be available in the same colors: space gray, silver, rose gold and gold. Sadly, no space black iPhone was included in the image.
In a supershort video that was also leaked, the photo also shows what appears to be a home button that hasn’t changed.
According to the site, some believe the photo is reportedly of “dummy units that are sent to accessory manufacturers so they can design cases and other peripherals ahead of the device’s launch.”
That said, the Next Web reports that a “well-known iPhone accessory maker” told them that Apple would never release dummy units ahead of the actual product release, and fans shouldn’t take any new photos too seriously.
An earlier leaked featured a photo of a space gray and space black iPhone 7, getting Apple fanatics’ hopes up that the company would be releasing a black phone again. However, with the new image, fans are disappointed to not see a fresh black option.
According to 9 to 5 Mac, Apple is also going to ditch the headphone jack for the iPhone 7 model. iPhone 7 owners will have to either Apple’s new headphones or buy a pair of bluetooth headphones.
The iPhone 7 is expected to be released early September. Apple has yet to comment on any of the reports or confirm a release date.
