Former NBA player Jackson Vroman was found dead in his pool at his home in L.A., the Coroner's Office confirmed to Us Weekly on Tuesday, June 30. He was 34.

The Phoenix Suns first confirmed the tragic news via Twitter on Monday, June 29. "We are very saddened to learn of the passing of Jackson Vroman," the team tweeted on Monday night, alongside a photo of the forward in action. "Our thoughts are with his family during this time."

The Lebanese Basketball team also reported of Vroman's sudden death via its official Twitter account. "We sadly announce the death of former Lebanese national team player Jackson Vroman in a tragic car accident," the team wrote, alongside a photo of the late athlete.

It was later revealed that Vroman was not killed in a car crash. The L.A. County's Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner told Us that Vroman was found dead in a pool at his home that morning.

"He has not been examined yet but we can confirm that he was discovered at the bottom of a pool," the coroner told Us. "There was no indication, however, that he hit his head anywhere. He did not have any chronic or acute medical condition that would be the reason why he was found at the bottom of the pool."

Vroman's college, Iowa State University, also reported the news of his tragic death on Monday through its website. The school also claimed that the former ISU forward was killed from injuries sustained in the car crash.

Vroman played for the school from 2002 to 2004, and was selected in the second round of the 2004 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls. According to Sports Illustrated, the athlete played in 87 career NBA games during his time with the Suns, and the New Orleans Hornets (now known as the Pelicans), from 2004 to 2005 under former head coach Byron Scott.

Vroman also played ball in the international arena in countries including South Korea, China, Spain, and the Philippines.

The former basketball player was friends with stars such as Reggie Bush and Justin Bieber.
