Another Simpson is heading to the small screen.

Joe Simpson is developing a Nickelodeon comedy series loosely based on his real-life experience as a psychologist raising daughters Jessica and Ashlee in Texas, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The untitled show centers on one of the daughters "who begins imitating her father and giving life advice to other kids in her school," the trade reports.

Jessica, 29, debuts her VH1 reality show, The Price of Beauty, March 15.

Ashlee's attempt at TV was not successful.

The former 7th Heaven star was fired from her gig on CW's Melrose Place because her acting "was embarrassingly bad," a set insider told UsMagazine.com. Jessica later defended her sister, 25, Twittering that the show was "crap."

Somehow this doesn't surprise me. It's all about making money huh Joe? Doesn't seem to bother him that he is exploiting his family in the process; oldest daughter and her now ex-husband had a reality show that Joe pushed for, papa Joe pushed for a divorce and went on every vacation they did. Not to mention making remarks about her chest( anyone else find that a little wierd?)and setting her up with Tony Romo only to see that blow up in his face. His other daughter had an incident on SNL and has yet to live it down, had a short-lived career in music that papa Joe pushed for. Maybe one day when his daughters, grandson and wife all stop talking to him, he'll realize it just wasn't worth it.

Socrates, how eloquent! Loved your post. If the majority of these comments, and the lack of them (24?) are any indication, perhaps Joe should realize that America has grown tired of his family. We don't want to read about Jessica's farts or burps or drunken nights out, or see her double-D's shoved up so high you can't see her neck, or listen to her butcher a song or worse, forget the words. It's over, pal.

I don't think Nickelodeon would be the right venue. I see something more like an opera house where we can explore the modern Greek tragedy of The Simpsons...the father who lusts after his daughter and forces her to choose between him and her one and only true love. The father forces the daughter to divorce the true love to build a career in the spotlight and make more money...the problem is that woe unto the father the public loved the daughter only when she was bonded to her true love. The father and daughter engage in folly after folly, the father forces the daughter into dreadful movies, dreadful country songs, dreadful photos, dreadful EVERYTHING! The daughter is arrogant and decides to date many many men. (Did I say many many men?) I meant many many many many many many many many men. The daughter is drunken, unfit, and engages in effluent farting behavior. The daughter, without the grounding of her true love is so strikingly out of touch that she begins telling all who will listen about her farts, her vomit and her bathroom habits. She thinks all are interested. This awful confusion extends to the entire family to the point where the entire nation, no the world, experiences a feeling of uncleanliness and filth upon hearing the name Simpson. (shudder) The ending of this tragedy has yet to unfold...

Will it involve having a male child then transforming him into a useless tranny through lots of plastic surgery and then pimping him out to gay football players?

I am so grateful that my dad supported me as a child and would still give me money if I ever needed it. Joe Simpson takes money from his kids and pimped them out as a young age.

Will a pre-teen boy who shops in the husky department be cast in the role of chubby, man-faced Jessica? Will there be a very special episode where Joe explains all of Jessica's classmates are just jealous of her flatulence when they tell her they don't want her at a the school dance because she farts on them all the time?

It gives me the creeps to see pictures of Joe Simpson with either of his daughters. He's very strange and WAY too involved in his girls' lives. I honestly think he was jealous of Nick; that's why they never got one minute to themselves - Joe was on every vacation/trip they took.

I can't believe networks are still giving the Simpsons and Kate Gosselin air time!! None of them have ANY talent. It's ridiculous.

Vaccines cause autism. Just ask a parent of a vaccine injured child if vaccines can cause harm.

Now he's a psychologist? He must have ordered his psychology degree online with Dr. Phil.

  • February 05, 2010 - 12:39pm Fat Jessica Simpson smells like farts

This series is going to be based on Joe raising his daughters? Nickelodeon may want to rethink airing a show about a father's incestuous relationship with his daughter. After all, they are a network geared to kids.

LMAO, since when in this yahoo of a father a psychologist? Wasn't he supposed to have been the "good" baptist preacher? This guy craves the spotlight more than his daughters..

  • February 05, 2010 - 10:35am nay nay

will the show be true to lifa and feature creepy dad leering at his daughter's gigantor boobs? freud could have made a career on that disgusting, incestuous hack!

  • February 05, 2010 - 10:31am hjb

Good grief, how big is this man's ego??? I can't believe Nickelodeon would sign off on what is destined to be a dud of a show! It's time that Jessica, at 29, cut the apron strings, disassociate herself from her greedy, creepy dad and find a real manager who is not using her. She needs some professional guidance and it sure isn't coming from Joe.
