John Mayer is still "Waiting on the World to Change."

In a Tumblr blog post written Tuesday, the 34-year-rocker expressed his distaste for the overuse of sarcasm in today's society.

"If you want to be truly intimidating, if you want to make an impact, if you want to have a strong connection with others, just be sincere," Mayer wrote. "Sarcasm is not an attitude, and it's not a personality trait. It's a style of rhetoric meant to be used occasionally to highlight a larger point."

"Saying you're a sarcastic person is like saying your favorite cuisine is salt," he added. "Sarcasm is easy because you never have to take a stance. And that’s just the problem; It's so noncommittal."

The musician -- whose exes include Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Love Hewitt -- then suggested that a simple "hello" will help "make your impression felt."

"I don't know when the lines got crossed and it was deemed attractive to be ambiguous and critical. Girls don't like it when guys do it and guys don't like it when girls do it," Mayer reasoned. "I live in a city of cool people with the absolute worst PR representatives: themselves."

Mayer concluded his post with a simple request: "Be yourself, even if that means being unsure or uneasy. Let someone else put you at ease. Meet them in the middle. Be sincere."

This is not new. It shows do not know to John. It is his philosophy of always, maybe if instead of yelling at their concerts, listen, know something of he.

I'm entitled to agree but this from a grown man who can't even keep his mouth shut about his sexual conquests like he's in college and made racist comments?? Well maybe this is a new leaf he's turning over...

Maybe he should take his own advice and not be such a d-bag all the time.

I agree with him on this point. Some people really don't understand that sarcasm is not really supposed to be a personality trait. I use sarcasm when I'm pissed but not all the time.
