“Johnny was having a good time,” an onlooker tells Us Weekly about the Oscar-nominated actor, 52, who was at the Hans Krull Tavern in Aarhus, Denmark. “Anyone that approached him got a pleasant response from him, and he seemed in a really chatty mood.”

“A few guys asked for selfies at one point and he happily obliged,” the source adds, noting that Depp appeared to be in good spirits and hung out until about 3:45 a.m. “It was a pretty tame evening. Johnny just wanted to hang loose with friends and unwind.”

One fan who snagged a pic with the actor was Frederik Johansen, who later shared the snap on his Facebook page.

Back at home in the United States, text messages supposedly exchanged between Heard, 30, and Stephen Deuters, Depp’s personal assistant, surfaced on Wednesday, suggesting that the actor had a history of violence. (Deuters has since told TMZ that the messages were doctored, and that he never said Depp attacked his wife.)

The Magic Mike XXL actress filed for divorce after 15 months of marriage on Monday, May 23. Days later, on May 27, she appeared in court and obtained a temporary restraining order after accusing Depp (worth an estimated $400 million) of domestic violence.

The Alice Through the Looking Glass star’s team has denied the allegations, and his lawyer, Laura Wasser, argued that the actress is “attempting to secure” financial gain by accusing Depp of assaulting her.

“Amber has suffered through years of physical and psychological abuse at the hands of Johnny,” Heard’s lawyers said in a statement on Tuesday, May 31. “In domestic violence cases, it is not unusual for the perpetrator’s playbook to include miscasting the victims as the villain.”

The estranged spouses are due in court on June 17.
