Julianne Hough is officially the chillest bride ever. The Grease: Live! actress told Us Weekly on Wednesday, June 15, that she’s taking her time to plan her upcoming nuptials to fiancé Brooks Laich.
The Safe Haven star, 27, got engaged to the hockey player, 32, in August 2015. Ten months later, she still hasn’t decided on a dress.
“We kind of just started [planning], and we were like, ‘You know what? Let’s just chill. Let’s just enjoy the engagement process and the fun of it.’ So we haven’t really gotten into it,” Hough told Us. “We’re kind of terrible.”
Considering they’re not big planners, it’s a good thing they aren’t looking for a massive turnout on their big day.
“It’s mainly just friends and family,” she added of the guest list. “We’re keeping it pretty small and intimate.”
The Dancing With the Stars alum got engaged to Laich last summer after they had been set up by a mutual friend and had dated for more than a year.
“It was magical and sweet,” Hough shared on her blog of when Laich proposed with a gorgeous oval Lorraine Schwartz diamond. “We were at home, romantic, and relaxed, which is perfectly very ‘us.’ We stood on the deck, watching the sun set over the lake and listening to our favorite songs. Not even for a second did I expect that beautiful, serene scene was about to become one of the most meaningful moments of our lives.
“Getting engaged has been about much more than the engagement itself,” she concluded. “The rush of love from friends and family, plus the support from all of you has been overwhelming. The love being poured into this next step of our relationship is incredible, and I’m so very grateful.”
