Drop the mic, it happened! Kanye West and Taylor Swift have officially, totally, definitely put their 2009 MTV VMAs beef behind them — the two former enemies broke bread together in New York City on Tuesday, Feb. 17.

The two artists braved the cold and dined at The Spotted Pig, and were photographed exiting the West Village gastropub. A source tells Us Weekly that rapper West “reached out” to set up the meal.

“They ended their feud at the Grammys and are fine now,” the insider tells Us of Swift, 25, and West, 37, who’ve steered clear of one another ever since West infamously crashed and protested Swift’s Best Female Video win at the MTV VMAs in 2009.

The pair’s Tuesday hang wasn’t just in the name of friendship and goodwill, though.

After burying the hatchet publicly at the Grammys earlier this month, West divulged to Ryan Seacrest during an interview that he’s “going into the studio” with Swift.

“They both know that recording a song together would be huge. So yes, they’re friends,” the source explains to Us of the move, while another insider adds the dinner was “productive” for the two artists.

“Kanye already has a few ideas of what he wants the song to be,” the source tells Us. “But he knows he’ll have to compromise a bit.”
