Kate Hudson Gloomy-Looking as A-Rod Strikes Out, Yankees Lose

A crestfallen Kate Hudson couldn't muster a smile at the disappointing conclusion of Wednesday's opening game of the World Series, where boyfriend Alex Rodriguez struck out three times in his first-ever Series game. (Playing the Phillies at Yankee Stadium, the Yankees lost 6-1.)

"He made some pretty good pitches," Rodriguez told the Associated Press of pitcher Cliff Lee.
The actress, 30, certainly had more fun watching her boyfriend help his team snag a spot in the Series Oct. 25 in a 5 to 2 win against the L.A. Angels. In full-on makeup and salon-prepped hair, Hudson "alternated between looking nervous and excited . . . she was so into it!" an observer says in this week's issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now.

Now inseparable, Hudson and Rodriguez, 34, who began dating in May, have been house-hunting in NYC and L.A. this fall. Rodriguez has told pals that Hudson means more to him than his ex Madonna.
