Royal rugby! Kate Middleton and Prince William took some time off from their Australian tour formal engagements to take in a rugby match on Saturday night on April 19. The twosome looked on as the New South Wales Waratahs went head-to-head with the Bulls at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney.
"They went privately," a spokesman tells Us Weekly. An aide adds: "The possibility of going had been set up a few days ago but they only made final decision on leaving engagements in Brisbane this afternoon."
The couple took their Kensington household staff for the fun outing, following a busy day where they visited the Royal Australian Air Force Amberley Base in Queensland. Prince George, meanwhile, stayed at home with his nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo.
Indeed, it was a relaxing night for the pair. Prince William drank a pint of beer while chatting with his love. Kate opted out of drinking any alcohol, and was spotted resting her head on William's shoulder at one point during the game.
This marks the first time the couple have been out in the evening and away from their official duties during the tour. Up next, they will be joined by their baby boy as they visit the Taronga Zoo in Sydney to watch a bird show and see kangaroos, giraffes, and more.
