Cover Story: Kate Middleton's First Royal Christmas "Laced With Pitfalls"
No footsie PJs allowed!
If Kate Middleton thought her royal wedding was stressful, she hasn't seen anything yet: In less than two weeks, the Duchess, 29, will spend her very first Christmas weekend with husband Prince William and the entire royal family at Sandringham manor, Queen Elizabeth's retreat in Norfolk, England.

Without her royal aides, parents or siblings at her side (no in-laws are invited), the princess will "quickly learn that this is not like any Christmas she has had," a royal source tells the new Us Weekly, out now.

Just packing for the holiday will be a challenge, as the fashion icon is expected to change up to five times a day for formal meals, black-tie- cocktails, church services and gift exchanges (novelty presents are encouraged!). To be sure, come the 25th, "Kate won't be able to spend the morning in her pajamas," the source says.
Adds Robert Jobson, author of William and Kate: The Love Story: "It will be a difficult baptism in protocol laced with pitfalls…She's first the first outsider since Camilla…so all eyes will be on her."

12Amazes me how being born to the' correct family 'can make you so special. Guess some one must run the country, But does the whole family need part in it?Katherine is so sweet, beautiful and intelligent(yet stays in pajamas all morning?), and yet she is not an' ordinary' she has roots that go back to being a relative to the Royal family.. Just check it out and you will find the truth. Family roots go deep. Just evidently not so close of a relative, until now. They found each other, yet related through the grapevines. .Fate must have brought them together?
She can't just say "No" to the royal family aka"the firm", its just not done, those who have divorced quick or had a nervous breakdown. Kate is spending time with Pippa on boxing day who was invited to the palace by william, its part of the package, she needs to get used to it.

It is proper in Royal Circles, to be quite protective, concerning information, it is only for the immediate family gatherings, for those to attend. Everything is private, as it should be, for being born or married into the family is considered for life. No one can talk about family business, which loyalty, truth and dedication are the most valued assets.
God a royal holiday sounds awful! Isn't not allowing her parents there outdated???
I like hearing about them. I was a huge Diana fan and I love seeing how well her boys grew up. Kate is almost as fabulous as Di. Almost, lol.
If I were she,I would see both sides of the family. If one side says no she can see who ever she wants.and she can just say no.
I love to hear about Kate; she's so refreshing compared to our reality stars. She's beautiful, classy and a real asset to the royal family.
get real everyone she's just another party animal turned rich b$@49... they are changing five times a stinking day just to shove it in our faces that they have money to blow... why feel sorry for her?? if she's so stressed then grow a backbone and say something... us over here living in the REAL world only wear one outfit for everything
Listen, US magazine...I have nothing against these two...I like them..I truly do...but I'm SO sick of Kate being on the cover every other week...though I suppose I should be happy it's this Kate and not Gosselin you're plastering on the front of the magazine. I'm really not caring how they will be celebrating their dreary Xmas at the palace..or the fact that Kate held a purse over her stomach and avoided peanuts...looks like I"ll be saving $4.00 this week by not buying this issue.
That Royal Life is so forced its pathetic.People shouldnt have to live by strict rules etc. in their homes. They can keep it.
Who want this life, not me! I enjoy waking up at 5am to open presents in the PJ's that I opened Christmas eve. I like the simple life.
